The Owners

Troy and Angie Offe have been Subway franchisees since 1987. Angie first discovered Subway while a student at UNC-Chapel Hill in 1984. Needing extra money as most students do, Angie took a job as a Subway sandwich artist. She spent the next three years perfecting her "artist" abilities and eventually persuaded the store owner, Peter Slomianyj, and her parents to help her purchase her own store in Morganton, North Carolina.

At that time there were less than 75 stores in the state. Today, Subway boasts over 500 locations throughout North Carolina.

During a 1990 corporate sponsored trip to Fort Collins, Colorado, Angie met Troy Offe. Troy liked Angie's "fresh baked buns" and decided to relocate to the beautiful foothills area of Morganton. They have been happily married to each other and Subway for the past 11 years.

During this time the Offe's were blessed with the arrival of their son, Mitchell, the ultimate sandwich artist.

Troy and Angie are grateful to each and every person that have made SUBMASTERS the success it is today: the wonderful SUBMASTERS employees and the fabulous people of Burke and surrounding counties.

The same ideals that inspired Angie to make the original decision to own a Subway and inspired Troy to move to North Carolina, continues to motivate the couple today. The American ideal of entrepreneurship stands for the best of what we are today: a country where opportunities abound, and a land where anyone can succeed.
